Dining on Dunk

Getting food to Dunk Island is a challenge. Guests are often interested to know how the chef does it! Being an island means all goods have to come over by boat, barge or plane. This logistical challenge does not faze our chef who is very focused on ensuring that your dining experience on Dunk Island is something that you will rave about, and will form part of the magical memories of your holiday when you get home.

A daily rotating menu is offered which specialises in fresh contemporary tropical cuisine for lunch and dinners offered at different locations around the island.  Today it may feature Italian style Pizza and Pasta, whilst tomorrow it may be a themed buffet or limited table d'hôte menu!  The location is advised on the Daily Dunk newsletter.

The Dunk Meal Package

Created to make it easy for you to plan ahead and to know what your holiday on Dunk Island will cost. The meal plan is prices to offer 20% off our normal retail pricing for a full breakfast, 2 course lunch, and 3 course dinner. Whilst you can buy your meals on the island as you go, if you purchase a Meal Plan for $69.00 per person (which can be pre-purchased or purchased on island) you can relax and enjoy your holiday, without worrying about meal costs.

Children Meal Package

Don't forget: children under 12 years eat free when dining with an adult and choosing from the kid's menu or from the buffet, making this a significant bonus for families. Meals are varied and fresh with all the usual favourites for the kids...Surrounded by pristine blue seas, Dunk Island is free of commercialisation and sets itself apart as a remote adventure holiday.

Dunk Island meal choices and venue locations will be advised in the Daily Dunk Newsletter which is the final reference for all dining experiences on Dunk Island, superseding any other reference source, so we recommend that you refer to it daily to ensure you do not miss out on any dining options.


The venues that will be rotated throughout the week in the Daily Dunk rotating menu include:

Beachcomber Restaurant

A Full English Breakfast Buffet is included in the accommodation tariff and is served daily from 7.00am to 10.00am in the Beachcomber Restaurant. Whilst a table d'hôte and themed buffet menus are served on a weekly rotational menu.

Plantation Bar and Deck

Open every day for drinks from 7.00am til late.

Overlooking the famous beachfront Butterfly Pool, it's the perfect place to soak up the rich, tropical ambience of Dunk Island.  The Plantation Bar is a great place to enjoy a cappuccino or light refreshment between your meals   The Daily Dunk newsletter will offer various activities and entertainment which are held in the Plantation Bar. Light meals and snacks are available from 12.00pm to 3.00pm daily.

The Terrace & Cascade Pool Bar

Situated below Cascades Pool, the Cascade Pool Bar is open daily for drinks and light snacks from 12.00am to 4.00pm, whilst The Terrace will be featured in the rotating menu options offered during each week. The Daily Dunk Newsletter will advise the menu and times that Terrace will open during your stay.  The Terrace opens when it is featured in the menu theme of the day. The Terrace is open for dinner Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 4.00pm to 8.00pm.

The Jetty Cafe

This Cafe is open daily from 8.00am till 4.00pm and provides a great menu of all time favourites from fish and chips to hamburgers and healthy salads.  A great place to drop in and see what is happening in the water with water sport activities based here.

A 10 minute stroll to The Jetty Cafe is worth the effort!

Additional refreshments can be purchased throughout the day from the Boutique or the Plantation Bar.

Private Romantic Dinner on Beach

What a magical setting to celebrate a life event with a loved one. Spoil someone you love with this truly magical and romantic experience. Our staff will talk to you about your menu and then serve you a series of menu choices and wines that will ensure that the night is one that will be remembered.

In Room Dining

A limited menu is offered for in room dining with a surcharge for delivery applicable.

Mini Bar

The mini bar will be stocked with your preferred purchases on arrival.  This ensures you have what you want in your fridge including a variety of snacks.  Additional orders may be subsequently placed at Reception.
