Public Area Attendant

OBJECTIVE

 

To ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of all public areas of the resort on a daily basis, in line with resort and Voyages standards to ensure the highest guest satisfaction at all times

KEY DUTIES

 

Carrying out all tasks in line with resort procedures and standards and product specifications

To clean and maintain to the highest standards all public areas of the resort, including restaurants, bars, reception, function rooms, selected walkways, guest & staff toilets, offices, departure lounge, gym and camping ground facilities

Ensuring all amenities in guest toilets are replaced, restocked and in excellent condition at all times

Acknowledging guests by promptly greeting and responding to their presence

Ensuring your working areas remain tidy at all times

Checking of your daily work sheet at the beginning of each shift for important messages, and recording relevant information on your work sheet during your shift and advising the supervisor when appropriate

Collecting and signing keys in and out at the beginning and completion of each shift, if applicable

Ensuring your chemical kit contains all the necessary chemical supplies and cleaning equipment required to clean guest rooms to the resort standard

Adhering to resort environmental initiatives including the ensuring plugs are provided for all sinks and the correct storage and use of chemical products

Monitoring linen quality for any linen used in public areas

Maintaining par levels of equipment, amenities etc, and restocking linen, public area storeroom  and amenity cupboards on a scheduled basis

Ensuring dirty linen and rubbish is disposed of appropriately at the completion of your shift and within environmental guidelines

Returning relevant items to Restaurant and Bar and other departments if found in public areas

Ensuring all checklists are completed correctly as required and returned to the housekeeping office

Immediately advising of any maintenance requirements and follow through action to your supervisor

Immediately reporting any lost property in accordance with resort policy

Having a full understanding and working knowledge of chemical handling

Preparation and maintenance of housekeeping supplies and equipment, including the storage and cleanliness of all housekeeping equipment

Assisting in the laundry as required


DEMONSTRATED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Appropriate housekeeping related qualifications and/or significant experience in housekeeping in the hotel/resort industry or appropriate commercial cleaning experience

Strong attention to detail

Experience in the use of housekeeping equipment and chemicals

Excellent communication and guest relations skills
