Dunk Island Resort is in an idyllic location situated between Townsville and Cairns in Far North Queensland. With 160 guest rooms we cater to a range of guests with activitites to suit everyone. Our drinking and dining options extend from the main Beachcomber Restaurant (seats 250 guests) with Seafood Buffet and Table d'hote dining; Asian Cuisine Noodle Bar; Italian cuisine at the Terrace Restaurant; or Jetty Cafe for seaside dining; as well as the Plantation Bar for all your pool side drink options. We also cater for weddings and groups so plenty of variety here.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:-
Preparation of the restaurant prior to service; Greeting and seating customers in a courteous, friendly and efficient manner; Taking orders, preparing and serving food and drinks; Serve meals promptly; Present and finalise accounts; Recommend wine and food combinations and be able to competently discuss Australian and overseas wines with customers.
Please be aware that split shifts are a part of our working environment here. If you have Table d'hote experience, or experience in breakfast shifts or a busy cafe then we would love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will ideally have previous experience in a resort environment and can demonstrate professionalism, rapport with guests, comittment to great service and a can do attitude.
