Mt Kootaloo Awaits You Approximately 5.6 kilometres/2 hours return As the highest point on the island (271 metres) this walk will reward you with panoramic views over some of the other members of the family group of islands.
Muggy Muggy Beach Approximately 2 kilometres/30 minutes return Aboriginal for “coral mushrooms where crayfish lurk. Muggy Muggy Beach is the perfect short rainforest walk and a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach. It boasts 360 million-year-old rocks, which are moulded into vertically folds. The track runs parallel to the water and is rich in a variety of vegetation.
Coconut Beach Approximately 6 kilometres/2 hours return Coconut Beach is made up of a series of small coves fringed by trees. One of the features is the Callaphylum tree, more commonly known as the Cyclone tree. These grow as high as 20 metres, have very low-lying foliage and can be very old.
Island Circuit Approximately 9.2 kilometres / 3 hours round trip Starting from the resort to Mt Kootaloo, you’ll pass through the magical Palm Valley and then onto Coconut Beach. Not for the faint hearted, this challenging walk will introduce you to Dunk Island’s lush green rainforest where you are likely to encounter the many different species of birdlife.

We recommend you wear covered in shoes for your walks, take drinking water and register your walk at Reception prior to departure.
