As one of Australia’s leading nature based resorts, we want visitors to have direct access to one of the most pristine and sensitive environments in the world. At the same it’s extremely important we do all we can to protect it. To keep the delicate balance of nature in this precious wilderness area, management policies are amongst the most environmentally sensitive in Australia.

Our ongoing environmental program includes:

• The use of recycled and/or biodegradable products wherever possible.
• The transportation of all waste to the mainland for recycling or disposal.
• The operation of a tertiary standard sewage treatment plant which is designed to have zero effect on the waters of the Great Barrier Reef.
• A staff induction program that includes environmental protection and conservation. We actively cultivate a respect and understanding of the environment and aim to pass this on to you, our guest, as part of your island experience.
